Trinity Intermediate School

Q & A

Parents and Guardians: Change is both exciting and scary. Below are some answers to commonly asked questions. As always, reach out to the staff if you have any additional questions.

    • All elementary schools (North, South, East, and West) will become K-3 buildings, and Trinity Intermediate will house grades 4-5.
    • Trinity Intermediate has all of its own facilities including the cafeteria, gymnasium, and auditorium.
    • Trinity Area School District is approximately 90 square miles in size, encompassing 4 municipalities. We know that there will be combined transportation due to district size and logistics. Some of these buses will be grades 4-8 and some will be 4-12. Rest assured, all buses will have cameras (audio and video), and we are adding more! All students will have assigned seats by building, to separate students by age, for increased bus safety. Finally, all current bus routes are being updated for efficiency. No student will have to spend more time on the bus than they do now.
    • An Open House date will be shared with students, parents, and community members in the near future. We want you to tour the facility and for our incoming students to be excited about the new space!
    • Trinity Intermediate School's time schedule will mirror the Trinity Middle School schedule. Students may begin arrival at 7:15 and will be dismissed at 2:45 daily.
    • Though the schedule isn't finalized, we do know that all fourth grade students will eat together at one time and all fifth grade students will eat together at another time.
    • YES! Students will be given 30 minutes of recess each day on an inclusive, developmentally appropriate playground.
    • YES! Trinity Intermediate is proud to offer Autistic Support, Life Skills, Emotional Support, ESL Support and many other tiers of service based upon need. We also have all inclusive facilities, including playground and cafeteria.
    • YES! Trinity Intermediate will have a full time counselor and social worker as well as the support from outside organizations such as Centerville Clinics and Associates in Counseling and Wellness.
    • Trinity Area takes school safety very seriously and prides itself on having each building staffed by a police officer. Trinity Intermediate is excited to welcome Officer Urbanic to our staff.
    • Trinity Intermediate has Mrs. Gaiser, RN, on staff full time.
    • Trinity Intermediate will have a state of the art media center, makerspace, a VR classroom, and will house the district's Hummingbird Robotics. We can't wait to get students excited about learning.
    • All students will have the traditional electives of art, library/media, technology, and physical education. Students in grades 4/5 will be able to select one choice from a music selection that includes band, orchestra, or music experience. If your student has an interest in more than one musical choice, they just need to speak with their teacher!
    • All classrooms will be intentionally placed to limit student movement. Also, the students will be teamed to attempt to create a small school feel. The staff fully recognizes that students will need time to adjust to a new building and a new schedule, and we will work together to ease the transition as much as possible.
    • Each individual building will prepare for the transition to the Intermediate School with an end of year celebration and a meet and greet for all future 4/5 students. More information to come!
